I am a proud graduate of Caddo Parish Magnet High School in Shreveport, LA. I attended Magnet High from my freshman to senior year of high school, and it was amazing! Go Mustangs! Upon graduating, in May of 2007, I went on to attend University of Louisiana in Monroe in August of 2007. There, I received my Bachelor’s Degree in both English and Social Studies Education for grades 6-12.
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in both English and Social Studies Education; therefore, I am certified to teach any English or Social Studies subject for grades 6-12.
I have been teaching for 9 ½ years , and I love what I do! I began teaching at Ouachita Parish High School in August of 2019, so this is my first full year as an English II and Creative Writing teacher in the Ouachita Parish School District. However, I did have the pleasure of completing one month of student teaching here, while I was at ULM, approximately ten years ago under another awesome English II teacher!
Prior to teaching here at OPHS, I was a teacher in Farmerville, Louisiana. I taught at Farmerville High School which is now Union Parish High School; and I learned so much! I began as a World Geography teacher and went on to teach English Remediation, English I, and English II. I also was an afterschool English tutor, Assistant Coach of the UPHS Varsity Cheer Squad, and head of the UPHS Key Club.
