Family & Consumer Science courses cover topics such as career readiness, clothing and textile, sewing, nutrition, food safety, basic cooking skills, personality traits, communicaitons, and teamwork.
Food Science will explore the culinary field in a variety of forms. We will examine cooking techniques, knife skills, food safety, cooking temperatures along with careers in the culinary field. During the second semester of Food Science ServSafe will be taught. Students will take the ServSafe Manger Certification Exam in hopes of earning their certificaiton.
During the 2018-2019 school year, we will introduce Virtual Workplace Experience II course in both FACS 2 and Food Science. Students will do several student lead project based assignments to learn about a careers at each level of the career ladder in a variety career clusters.
