About Me

Educational History:

I graduated from Ouachita Parish High School in 2003.

Bachelor’s degree from The University of Louisiana at Monroe in 2013

Master’s degree from The University of Louisiana at Monroe in 2016

Degrees and Certifications:

Bachelor’s of Arts in English

Master’s of Arts in English with a concentration in medieval female religious authors

Current Position:

This is my second year at OPHS and I will teach Gifted and AP English . This will be my fourth year with the Ouachita Parish School District. 

Previous Position:

 I taught English at Richwood High School for the 21-22 and 22-23 school years.  Before that, I taught 7^th grade Social Studies at Caldwell Parish Junior High. 

Family Information:

I have been married to my husband since 2005.  We have five children together.  Our children are 18, 16, 9,8, and 1 year old.  We have 4 girls and one very active little boy.  Only one of my children attends OPHS.  Abagail is a Junior and plays softball for the Lady Lions.  We have three dogs, Charlie ( a Siberian Husky), Paisley ( a mutt), and Mr. Banks (a standard poodle). 

Personal Information:

When I am not teaching, I love to watch baseball and softball.  I also like to do various crafting projects and home improvement/diy projects.
